कहीं कोई रास्ता बुलाता तो है

चौराहे आते हैं, भ्रमित कर जाते हैं,
चलते-चलते मुसाफिर रुक जाता तो हैं,
पर कोई अनजानी-सी शक्ति उसे खींच लेती है,
कहीं कोई रास्ता बुलाता तो हैं।

धूल उड़ती है, आँखों में पड़ती है,
नयनों से पानी छलक जाता तो हैं,
पर किसी प्रेरणा से ख़ुद के हाथ उसे पोंछ लेते हैं,
कहीं कोई रास्ता बुलाता तो हैं।

परेशान हुआ मन, हताश हुआ तन,
रह-रह कर हतोत्साहित कर जाता तो है,
पर चलते रहने की प्रेरणा कोई अदृश्य वाणी दे जाती है,
कहीं कोई रास्ता बुलाता तो हैं।

कविता के शब्द, शब्दों के अक्षर बिखर जाते हैं,
गीत का प्रवाह रुक जाता तो है,
पर कोई सहेज देता है शब्दों को, कलम लौटा जाता है,
कहीं कोई रास्ता बुलाता तो है।

I don't know if you have read but I remember there is a poem by Muktibodh which is quite similar, I don't know the title though.... It is anthologized in his pratinidhi kavitayen. He talks about the same choices and the (illusory) freedom by invoking the imagery of a square (chauraha) and roads and how it fills one's heart with angst, anxiety and regret. I am not even sure if I remember the poem correctly.

Anyway, I really liked this poem of yours! I have been going through your archives and I still have a lot of them left. Will bookmark your blog for future. I hope you don't mind me adding my comments to your poems. It does look a little weird!
